Some Good Ol' Common Scents

Hi There~

www.oldecommoncandles.com

My name is Alyssa and I am the owner of Olde Common Scents, a small garden workshop in Massachusetts where I create soy candles in primitive and cottage designs.  Also, on my site, I have an apothecary shoppe where I offer soy liquid soaps and organic Vermont soaps.  In addition to my candles and apothecary shoppes, I have a curiosity shoppe.  Here you will find primitive and cottage whatnots.  I am having a BLAST with my website.  I have been making candles for three years.  It has taken me two years to perfect my craft (I had my awesome baby boy between that time ;).  I wanted to create and sell only the best smelling candles that I possibly could.   In addition, I wanted a straight wax burn down the jar, so that wax was not wasted.  After testing many scents, waxes, and wicks I finally found all of the players to this musical.  I am a candlechemist, or conductor, not sure which!

After three years of wanting my own website I happened upon 2 friends and did not really think twice about choosing them to create my site.  They are AWESOME!  Or, as we say in MA, "Wicked Awesome!"  My site went up just last week and the response has been great.  Thanks again 2 Friends! :)

Well, about me...I am a mommy of a 2 year old boy who is just the best thing that has ever happened to me, besides my husband.  I am a full time grade three teacher, a children's writer, and sea glass collector.  I love starfish and the ocean.  I can't get enough salt air.

I just love primitive and cottage design and am so envious of all of your handsewn items, as I cannot sew!  You're a talented bunch!  Great to join and look forward to chit-chatting.

Primitive Greetings , my business name is BittersweetSusan. I would like to thank Denise and Lisa for getting my website back up and running again! The first of the yr all my graphics were lost which were dear to me as Denise had created my graphics using one of my prized photoface dolls as my website graphics. Thanks to the past work w/these gals Denise retrieved them for me and Lisa got most of my pics and stories put back online so far and I promise there is more to come! Simply Amazing are these two gals.. without them I would still be lost in cyberspace LOL :) One of my newest Easter items ,my "Faith Cross" will be offered soon to my customers on Simply Primitives .I am also on Ranting Raven and hoping to showcase some of my past work at lower prices for those of you with a discriminating primitive taste.I have a directory ad of my website w/Mercantile Gathering magazine and will be also advertized in a newly published Primitive Cloth Doll book soon w/Sweet Liberty Gatherings..Oh and Denise made the awesome ad for that too!You can see more of my work at my friends shop "Calico Cow and Cranberry Barn "in New Knoxville Oh. if you ever get a chance to stop by!So be sure to visit me often as I am always coming up with new handstitched creations ! I am proud to say I don't own a sewing machine, I like the way of yester year, sewing by hand it gives my creations a special look and most of my things are now all ragstuffed and better yet made in the USA:)
